Susan Wendell, MBA

Susan Wendell joined Maryvale as Vice President, Finance in 2022. She and her team manage the day-to-day financial responsibilities of the agency in close partnership with Maryvale’s leadership and program directors. Her responsibilities include revenue management, general accounting, budget management, financial policies, procedures development and improvement, and financial system management.

Susan has more than twenty years of experience in finance, having previously served as Vice President, Finance at Wayfinder Family Services and as Senior Vice President, Finance at Ketchum, a global public relations agency. Prior to her shift into finance, Susan was an employee communications consultant at Sheppard Associates in Glendale, California, and at Duke Energy in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Susan is a magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Duke University, where she earned a certificate in education and a B.A. with a self-designed major called “Perspectives on the Child and Family in American Society.” She earned her M.B.A. with honors from Wake Forest University. She lives in Los Angeles, California, with her husband and two children.
