Maryvale is proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone: Christina Moore, Chief Program Officer at Maryvale, has been named the 2026 Advocacy Woman of the Year for the 48th Assembly District by Assemblymember Blanca Rubio. This recognition honors Christina’s unwavering dedication to children, families, and the broader community she has served for decades.
At Maryvale, advocacy is at the heart of everything we do. Christina’s recognition reflects not only her personal commitment, but also the mission that guides our work every day, ensuring that children and families have access to the support, education, and care they need to thrive.
Honoring Advocacy in Action
The Advocacy Woman of the Year recognition celebrates individuals who create meaningful change through leadership, compassion, and service. Christina’s work embodies these values. Her advocacy focuses on ensuring that families, especially those facing economic or social challenges, have access to high-quality programs that promote stability, education, and long-term well-being.
This honor highlights the critical importance of strong advocates within the nonprofit sector. At Maryvale, we see firsthand how dedicated leadership can transform lives and strengthen entire communities.
A Career Dedicated to Children and Families
Christina Moore has devoted nearly 30 years to the nonprofit sector, focusing on developing and implementing programs that serve children and families who might otherwise lack access to essential services. She joined Maryvale in 2012 as Vice President of Early Childhood Education and, in 2025, stepped into the role of Chief Program Officer, where she now oversees all program areas across the agency.
In this role, Christina ensures that Maryvale programs maintain the highest standards of quality, compliance, and care. She works closely with teams across the organization to ensure associates are equipped with the training, resources, and support needed to provide effective, compassionate services to every family we serve.
Her leadership has been instrumental in expanding and strengthening Maryvale Early Education Centers, family support services, and other programs designed to promote safety, growth, and opportunity.
Advancing Maryvale’s Mission Through Leadership
Christina’s work is deeply rooted in the belief that strong families build strong communities. She is especially passionate about creating programs that empower caregivers and help families break cycles of poverty. By prioritizing trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices, she helps ensure that Maryvale’s services are not only accessible but also truly responsive to the needs of those we serve.
Her academic background including a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Education combined with her credentials from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, allow her to bring both strategic vision and educational expertise to her role. She is also certified to provide Triple P parenting courses, further extending her impact on family well-being. Christina’s dedication to advocacy extends beyond Maryvale. She has served as a board member for organizations such as Serenity Family Services, Haynes Family of Programs, and EveryChild CA, contributing her expertise to initiatives that support vulnerable children and families across California.
