Temporary Housing for Single Mothers
MISSION STATEMENT
Seton House seeks to provide safe, temporary housing for single mothers, empowering them with tools to help change the trajectory of their lives. We intend to cultivate a compassionate environment where mothers can focus on personal development, while learning life skills to sustain a positive and productive lifestyle for themselves and their children.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
PROGRAM ADVANTAGES
In October 2024, the Rosemead City Council approved Maryvale's expansion plan to convert an existing facility into 20 additional living units. Once complete, the Seton House program will have a total of 29 temporary units, combined with up to 14 residents from Hope Housing. This approval brings us one step closer to providing safe, stable housing for young women, mothers, and their children as they work towards building a brighter future.

Maryvale has a deep history of offering hope and help to families in need in our community. Now more than ever, these families look to the Maryvale community to provide transitional housing and support services to help them along the path to a better life. Seton House is 100% funded by private donations and foundation grants. Your generous support will help bring hope to the mothers and their children that we serve at Seton House and allow us to continue to serve homeless families well into the future. If you would like to make your donation online, please scroll down to make your on-line donation now.

Elizabeth Ann Bayley Seton, SC, was a wife, mother, widow, educator, and Catholic religious sister in the United States, known as a founder of the parochial school system.
She became the first person born in what would become the United States to be canonized by the Catholic Church. In 1812, she founded the Sisters of Charity in Emmitsburg, Maryland. In 1850, the Emmitsburg Sisters of Charity joined the French Company of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul - thus, she is considered one of our Founders.
