Our ability to learn, grow, and play in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic reveals how deeply our teachers care about each student and how beautifully they bring our core values to life. Through the dedication of our teachers, Maryvale kept our schools open throughout the pandemic to support children and families. Maryvale’s teachers are a special breed of compassionate, engaged educators who are profoundly dedicated to each child’s success. Our teachers participate in ongoing professional development to continue growing their skills and promoting a growth mindset among children in the Maryvale community.
Teacher Appreciation Day always falls on the Tuesday of Teacher Appreciation Week each year. That’s right – you have all week to show your love and appreciation to the teachers in your life! The occasion was first proposed in the 1950s by Eleanor Roosevelt but was not officially observed until 1984 when the National Parent Teacher Association began to take it seriously. We’re glad to have a reason to celebrate our teachers’ hard work. During this school year, Maryvale teachers have shown up through pioneering programs like our Distance Learning Support Program, making it possible for school-age children to continue to benefit from socialization and academic assistance. No generation of children has ever undergone an experiment as challenging as distance learning – and we’re proud to offer guidance and structure to help young people thrive during these uncertain times.
