In memory of our beloved friend and teacher, Laura Carrillo.

She was a teacher who loved teaching, and taught children to love learning.
Laura was a Maryvale teacher in Rosemead for 20 years. She was a wife to Gustavo, and a loving mom and grandma. Years after they left Maryvale, families would bring their children back to see Laura, as she was the teacher that everyone loved, and wanted to keep in touch with. Laura was the person that brought people together. She is greatly missed.
The butterfly is a beautiful, winged creature of exquisite beauty, like Laura was. It symbolizes hope and is a symbol of rebirth and resurrection. To commemorate her passing and honor her memory, Laura’s Maryvale family is raising money to create a butterfly garden in her honor. With your help, this butterfly garden will live on in her memory, as a reminder of an amazing woman, teacher and friend with a beautiful and passionate spirit.
