Mary Koenig
Vice President, Development
As Vice President of Development, Mary Koenig oversees all philanthropic, marketing, and communications efforts for Maryvale, helping to fund a variety of programs and services to meet the needs of the community Maryvale serves.
Mary is a native Californian and a graduate of the University of La Verne, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management. Mary has worked in nonprofit development and management for over 20 years. She began her career in fundraising in 2003 as an event coordinator at City of Hope. Within a year she was promoted to a director of development, where she took over and grew the Employee Giving Department. Ms. Koenig was then promoted to senior director of development, raising over $1.5 million annually from both internal and external employee giving campaigns. In 2016, Mary accepted the position of director of development for JVS SoCal in West Los Angeles to expand her knowledge and experience in event management and major gift development. In 2018, she assumed the role of executive director of philanthropy for Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare, leading a $3.5 million annual fundraising goal through various revenue streams, including major gifts, special events, grants, annual appeals, and planned gifts. Throughout her career as a development professional, Mary has consistently met or exceeded multimillion-dollar revenue goals while maintaining or reducing expenses.
