DIRECTOR OF RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT SERVICES

Under the direction of Vice President, the Director of Residential Treatment Services is responsible for the general administration and daily operations of Maryvale’s STRTP according to CCL, DCFS, DMH and Maryvale expectations. The Director will ensure that all services are provided within a trauma focused, strength based, culturally sensitive and inclusive framework.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Demonstrate a passion and commitment for the Mission and Vincentian Core Values of Maryvale and the Daughters of Charity.
  • Follow the Trauma Informed Care philosophy when supporting and addressing the needs of the children and families Maryvale serves.
  • Direct Associate relations, including supervision, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, staff evaluations, progressive discipline, suspending, and recommending termination.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal CCL, DCFS and DMH regulations applicable to the program.
  • Maintain Group Home Administrator certification.
  • Effective collaboration and integration within the treatment team is expected to ensure the most appropriate services are being provided and that all staff are part of the treatment.
  • Responsible for staff development, team development, and compliance with training mandates.
  • Ensure all shifts are within ratio at all times, assist group supervisors in the management of schedules and coverage.
  • Be available to provide crisis support and management 24/7.
  • Serve as liaison between Maryvale, other agencies, residents and their parents or guardians.
  • Oversee all aspects of recordkeeping; including, but not limited to, resident records, timekeeping, outcome measures, purchase orders, inventory, household purchases, and groceries.
  • Promote the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process by identifying quality indicators and opportunities for departmental and organizational process improvement.
  • Collaborate in the development and follow set organizational policies and procedures.
  • Participates in mandatory trainings, in-service, and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of two years college experience in child welfare, probation, social work, psychology or related field with 5 years supervisory experience in a residential facility (child welfare/probation/hospital setting) OR
    • BA with 3 years supervisory experience in a residential facility (child welfare/probation/hospital setting) OR
    • MA with 2 years supervisory experience in a residential facility (child welfare/probation/hospital setting)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in staff supervision of multiple layers is required, to include hiring, performance management and daily supervision.
  • Extensive hands-on experience is essential in the areas of residential care program design, implementation, and 24-hour staffing; training and implementation experience a plus.
  • Experience in translating proven development theories, principles and concepts into programmatic objectives by strategic planning methods.
  • Experience with budget formulation and management.
  • Knowledge of Minimum Standards for 24-Hour Residential Treatment Center.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead, manage, train, and motivate assigned staff.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be proficient in use of computer software including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office applications and other similar programs; experience with Electronic Health Record Keeping Systems a plus.
  • Must possess exceptional time management and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under stress.
  • Follow Universal Precautions when exposed to blood and bodily fluids.
  • Follow Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) regulations pertaining to safety and the use of equipment/machinery.

Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance - Maryvale offers a choice of two medical plans and two dental plans for full-time Associates. In addition, we offer vision insurance through VSP. The majority of an Associate's premiums are covered by the agency and Associates are offered the opportunity to add dependents to their insurance plans for an additional cost.

Holiday Pay - Maryvale recognizes 10 full-day paid holidays,  and 1 Holiday of Choice each calendar year (Regular part-time employees receive pro-rated time).

Vacation - Maryvale recognizes the value of rest and relaxation and encourages Associates to take time off with their families. Regular full-time Associates accrue paid vacation leave according to the following schedule:

  • 1 to 3 years of service - 10 working days per year
  • 4 to 7 years of service - 15 working days per year
  • 8 years or more of service - 20 working days per year

Sick Time - Associates accrue sick time at 1 hour for each 28.9 hours of work.

Life Insurance - Maryvale pays for a basic Life & Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance Policy that pays beneficiaries a flat $15,000 death benefit.

401(k) Pension Plan - Associates are eligible to enroll in the 401(k) Retirement Plan on the first day of the month after their hire date.

  • Match of Employee Contributions: After completing one year of service, Maryvale will match 100% of an Associate’s salary deferral up to a maximum of the first 3% (1%-3%). In addition, Maryvale will match 66% of an Associate’s salary deferral up to a maximum of the next 3% (3%-6%).
  • Non-Elective Contribution: After an Associate completes one full year of service, Maryvale on the Associate’s behalf, will begin making a fixed non-elective contribution equal to 3% of the Associate’s income. This contribution is separate from the matching contribution and vests over a 5 year period.

Long Term Disability Insurance - Maryvale offers Long Term Disability Insurance to all benefits-eligible Associates at no cost to the Associate. Maryvale pays the full premium for these benefits which provide salary protection in the event an Associate becomes disabled for an extended period of time.
